Ted and Barbara Janssen have been certified SCUBA divers since the early 1970s. Their interests in photography and SCUBA intersected in the early 1990s with a trip to Grand Cayman. Since that time of film photography with Nikonos cameras, technology has progressed and they now shoot digital. Both originally used Olympus 5050 cameras and housings, then Nikon D70 cameras in Subal housings with dual INON z240 strobes mounted on ULCS arms. In 2011, Barbara switched to a Sony NEX-5n and in 2012, Ted a Sony NEX-7, both in Nauticam housings, same strobes and arms. In 2014 Barbara returned to her roots with an Olympus OM-D EM-1 in a Nauticam housing. In 2019, Ted decided to house a Sony a7iii in a Nauticam housing. Digital editing was previously done on an iMac with Aperture and now with Photos, Luminar and Aurora HDR.
